Gypsy Jazz has a brand new superstar! His name is Olli Soikkeli and his JTC debut will blow you away! These 20 licks over 4 classic backings will help you to learn and master the soloing ideas and techniques commonly used in Gypsy Jazz!

If you’ve ever sat and listened in awe at the staggering technique and musicality behind some of the Gypsy Jazz greats then this package is definitely for you! This is your opportunity to peak behind the curtain of this sometimes intimidating genre by learning 20 creative, real world examples that you can put to use to sound just like some of the greats!

You’ll be learning to use a lot of the essential techniques and devices such as chromatics (both ornamental and as passing tones), target notes to follow the changes, octave phrases (reminiscent of the likes of Django and Montgomery), quartal harmony, double stops, sweep picking, alternate picking, V-I lines and a whole host of other musical and technical skills.

Once you have the 20 licks down and mastered we’ve included 4 classic Gypsy Jazz standard backing tracks (‘Bossa’, ‘Blues’, ‘Minor Swing’, and ‘Tiger’) for you to play these new and exciting ideas over! Each has it’s own twist on the genre to ensure that you have several different musical situations to grow and develop in the world of Gypsy Jazz.

As ever, we have included everything you need to practise and perfect the material in this package. There are video and audio tracks for you to watch/listen and study, accurately transcribed TAB/notation for you to analyse and master, and backing tracks for everything!
