Live in Zagreb.
BODY AND SOUL
Aqui les dejo este disco, que para mí me resultó bastante raro, va una pequeña reseña de los tres guitarristas, Catherine es bien conocido como así también Pedersen y Drew pero los otros no los tenía.
Guitar player Primož Grašič was born in 1968 in Kranj, Slovenia. After high school in Kranj he went abroad and studied guitar at the Klagenfurt Conservatorium. Very soon jazz bands and orchestras became aware of the young but very talented musician and so after his studies he immediately became a member of the “Greentown Jazz Band”. His music career flourished after this and we can only share his biggest achievements with you.
Since April 1998 he has been a full-time member of “Big Band RTV Slovenia” and the “Big Orchestra of RTV Slovenia”.
Born: April 16t, 1958 in Halmstad, Sweden. Ulf Wakenius. A jazz guitarist extraordinaire acclaimed and celebrated all over the world. Between 1997 and 2007 Ulf held what may have been the most prestigious spot in jazz for a guitarist: a chair in the Oscar Peterson Quartet. This was the coronation of a career which included many record-breaking moments.Wakenius guitar duo Guitars Unlimited rocked Scandinavia in the early 80s, culminating in the 1985 Melody Grand Prix, which was seen by 600 million viewers, probably the largest audience a jazz guitar duo ever had. Shortly after that Wakenius started a extremely successful and long-lasting collaboration with the legendary bass player Niels-Henning Örsted Pedersen.( NHOP), and both of his duo albums with bass icon Ray Brown, topped the US Jazz Charts. The last few years he’s been touriing the world with the amazing Korean singer Youn Sun Nah.
Philip Catherine was born in London in 1942. Being from a musical family (his grandfather was first violin with the London Symphony Orchestra), he developed a musical ear from an early age. He took up the guitar after having discovered Brassens and Django Reinhardt, and started listening to all the great jazzmen of the period. Very soon he had the opportunity to meet some of them, and often accompanied them when they played in Belgium where his family had moved to by then.
